Lab Activity, Week Seven

Post a personal reflection on the collaboration in research discussion on your blog; what have you gained from collaboration in your schoolwork or employment?

Quite honestly, the collaboration and bouncing ideas back and forth trying to trouble shoot an issue at work, is one of my favorite things.  Some days I look at my co-workers and think about how grateful I am to work with such brilliant minds in an environment where we are constantly learning.  In the IT world, and in an organization in general, there are so many working components that need to go right to keep things running smoothly.  Sharing ideas and knowledge, and collaborating with many departments and people are the key to having a strong infrastructure.

I am also grateful for the brilliant minds of my professors and peers to bounce ideas of off.  There has been several times that I have been stuck on this project and have got a simple idea or new direction by collaborating with Amelia, librarians, and my peers.  Although giving a presentation may not exactly be collaborating on a project, I feel that the feedback from my presentation helped me to see things that I had not previously thought of, that I was then able to incorporate into my paper to make my paper better.  I think with any kind of collaboration and a group filled with open minds, the possibilities are endless with what can be done with technology!
