Journal Prompt: What is your prior experience with citing your sources? Have you had to use APA or MLA formats? Is this easy for you, or do you struggle? What sources do you use to cite your sources and/or create bibliographies?
The only experience I have really had with having to cite papers is for school. So far, I have not had any positions of employment that I have had to use any sort of citing for anything. In high school, I did a little bit of MLA citing for English class. Since I have started attended OC, I have had to cite sources quite a bit for various different classes.Citing sources can be tedious work, but I generally find it pretty easy to do. Unlike many people, I find APA format for citing sources easier to use because that is what I have had to use the most while in college. The biggest challenge that I find is that different teachers prefer different versions of the format, but most seem to just care that your work is cited.
To help me with my citing, I use citemachine.net, which is usually pretty decent. The one good thing about citemachine.net is that you can choose the fields that you want to use and remove or add information. Another positive aspect of citemachine.net is that it will save your last few sources that you have cited. A downfall of this website though, it that it can be extremely slow and glitchy. All-in-all, it does what I need it to do though.
